LEGAL EXPERIENCE

• Mr. Zaharek is a corporate and estate planning attorney in Orange County.
• Mr. Zaharek creates California corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.
• Mr. Zaharek drafts revocable living trusts and wills for married couples and individuals includING notarizing and funding the estates.
• Mr. Zaharek has been practicing law in California since 1995. He has both courtroom (state and federal) and corporate boardroom experience.
• Mr. Zaharek is employed at Downey Savings and Loan Association, F.A., which is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Downey is the second largest savings and loan association headquartered in California with 169 retail branches in California and Arizona. Downey sells a myriad of financial products including consumer mortgages for single family residential homes and cars. Downey also develops real estate. He is responsible for providing advice to various departments within Downey including retail, operations, compliance, and human resources.
• Mr. Zaharek was Corporate Counsel in the professional beauty division at Proctor & Gamble (formerly Wella/Sebastian), a publicly traded (NYSE: PG) international consumer products company. He provided advice on a plethora of topics including contracts management, corporate governance, facilities, human resources, intellectual property, legal affairs and organization development.
• Prior to entering the corporate world Mr. Zaharek was in private practice representing bankruptcy creditors in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 proceedings.
• Since 2004, Mr. Zaharek has taught at the University of California, Irvine’s Paralegal extension program. He teaches Intellectual Property which includes trademarks, trade secrets, patents and copyrights. He also teaches Business Law which comprises of corporate formation, corporate financing, labor and employment, products liability, UCC, bankruptcy and antitrust issues. Mr. Zaharek is a Member of the Curriculum Advisory Staff – University of California, Irvine’s Paralegal Extension Program.
• Mr. Zaharek is an adjunct professor at Western State University, School of Law. He teaches Business Contracts Drafting.
• Mr. Zaharek is a California Public Notary.
• Mr. Zaharek is Vice President of Services and serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel - America (ACCA).
• From 2000-2003, Mr. Zaharek served on the Los Angeles County Bar Corporate Counsel Section, Executive Committee.
